GMI Grant Gala 2014

This years second annual gala brought much excitement to the faculty. GMI was honored to host both Dr. Leslie Dan and Dr. Linda Dresser who shared their insights into providing pharmacy and pharmaceutical aid to low income countries. Both discussed challenges they have faced and what they see to be the future of global pharmacy. With food, beverages, a slient auction and a raffle, GMI was successful in raising over $1000 to support the implementation of healthcare initiatives on the Island of Isabela in the Galapagos of Ecuador. Pharmacy student Amber-Lee Carriere completed her rotation there this summer and her blog highlighting some of here initiatives can be found at amberleeinecuador.weebly.com. GMI is excited about our new partnership with the Isabela Oceanographic Institute as we plan to continue to support health care and pharmacy initiatives on the Isabela.

Again we would like the thank the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and especially Associate Dean David White, for all their support in making the event a success.
