GMI Samosa Sale Fundraiser!

On October 18th GMI hosted the GMI Samosa Sale and Water Guessing fundraiser to raise awareness for the Pakistani flood crisis. The floods were caused by heavier-than-usual monsoon rains and melting glaciers that followed a severe heat wave. It is the world's deadliest flood since the 2017 South Asian floods and is described as the worst in the country's history. A lack of access to clean water is driving an increase in waterborne diseases, such as diarrhea, cholera, dengue, and malaria. Skin infections caused by wet conditions have also been widely reported. The event was help from 12-2PM in PB Basement 2, where 1 Samosa was sold for $1, and all funds raised were donated to Pharmacists Without Borders. A water guessing competition was also held, where participants had to guess tap water or bottled spring water from unlabeled containers, all participants were awarded one UPS point and participants guessing right were entered in a raffle to win a 5$ gift card.
