GMI presents: Global Health Information Session
GMI hosted a Global Health Information Session to answer any questions regarding global opportunities and international APPE placements for pharmacy students ✈ We had 4 amazing guest speakers who talked about their experiences in global health! The speakers lined up for this event includes: We have a 2T0 Pharmacy student who spoke about her international APPE rotation in Paris, France. "My name is Bahar from graduating class of 2T0. I am currently working at St. Joseph Health Center in nephrology at satellite location as part of my required APPE institutional placement. I had the amazing opportunity to go to Paris, France as part of my NDPC APPE rotation in block 1 and 2 and be part of retrospective study on baclofen poisoning taking place at one of the teaching hospitals." Our next speaker was a representative from GMT, a like minded organization that strives to provide free medical and dental services to deprived communities in Central America and organizes yearly trips to aid in this mission.
Additionally, we will have Francine Phillips-Sheldon, a UofT faculty member, who is in charge of the pharmacy APPE/EPE rotations.
To end off an informative night, audience and speakers had plenty of delicious refreshments and drinks!
